Whoa! That’s a big heads up for me! This will require a shift pretty quickly for those of us who do NOT have 1 to 1 computing available in our classrooms. We can get to the computer labs to do the testing, but will be at a serious disadvantage because our students have so little experience with writing with computers. Even keyboarding is a…[Read more]

I agree – very helpful site. There will be a huge learning curve for students to become familiar with the format and technology involved. I wonder what the process will be for that.

In talking with our technology director, Type to Learn is the best learning tool for helping kids learn this necessary skill. Also, some of our elementary teachers have got old key boards and have allowed students to practice home row and typing when there is choice time in their classrooms. A thought…

Type to Learn is what we have used for quite a few years. Students receive instruction and are expected to complete the basic program in third grade.
